Girls and guys are going crazy for BCBGeneration's newest sunglasses! They became a hit from the moment they arrived on the University of Minnesota's campus.
The image below is a group of sorority girls that were showing off their new glasses. They were talking about how excited they were to wear them while walking to class and while they were out on the weekends!
These glasses are great because they make a statement. They are both stylish and fun, and come in an adorable bag!

This past weekend, my sorority had our spring formal on a boat that cruised down the Mississippi river. It was interesting to see what each girl was wearing to the event. I noticed that everyone was wearing very short and colorful dresses. A large majority of them were also strapless.
Below is a picture of a group of girls getting ready before they boarded the boat. As you can see, it was also popular to wear blue colored dresses!
I had a ton of fun at this formal and was excited to see what styles are popular this season. I was even more excited when I saw a couple of my sorority sisters wearing BCBG dresses!

| SPRING JAM AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA |

This past week, students were busy partaking in Spring Jam festivities around campus. Every year the University sponsors this event, and it is a great success! The week is filled with a ton of fun events that student groups prepare for weeks in advance. This year, the overall theme of the week was "Into the Wild." Here is a rundown of everything that happened this week...
Thursday: Philanthropy events ALL day! Many of them dealt with the environment because it was Earth Day.
Friday: Ballyhoo competition. Greek houses and residence halls create their own dance routines and perform them in front of Coffman Memorial.
Saturday morning: Student groups compete in a band competition. They get a 15 minute set to perform whatever they would like.
Saturday night: The winner of the band competition opens for GYM CLASS HEROES!

| GLADIATOR SANDALS, RACER-BACK TANK-TOPS AND MORE! |

As I was walking around the mall this weekend I was shocked to see such similar trends in each window that I passed. In many of the stores I saw plain colored tank-tops that had fun, flirty backs. A lot of them were racer-backed, twisted, or covered in lace. These are great items to purchase because they can be worn casually or they can be dressed up with some jewelry and a cute skirt.
Looking around the shoe section is a must when I am at the mall. During my trip this weekend, I noticed a lot of different gladiator sandals. Some were very casual and others laced all the way up to the knee. I love this style for summer because they are so comfortable and can make an outfit look great!
I am, and always will be, a sucker for cute sun dresses. Every store that I visited had very similar styles of dresses that they were selling. They all were short, colorful, and many of them had some sort of floral pattern. I think that every girl needs at least a few flirty dresses to wear on her nights out!
In my opinion, these items are great staples to have for the beginning of spring and summer!

Ladies -
Spring is here and it's time for a little spring cleaning! It's time for all you "pack rats" to open up those closets and get rid of those awful clothes that at one time you just needed to have! I understand this can be a challenge for some of you, but it needs to be done. Here are a few helpful tips for organizing....
1. Take every article of clothing out of your closet. It is easier to decide what to keep when you can see everything that has been hiding in the shadows and in the corners.
2. Sort your clothing into 3 piles- keep, get rid of, and donate/re-sell.
3. You must keep everything that you wear often and that fits you well. Don't keep things that you think you may fit into someday, keep things that fit NOW.
4. Things to get rid of - damaged heels, graphic tees that you don't ever wear, jeans that are too tight, clothes that may be too worn or stretched out
5. Donate everything that is no longer in style or something that you will never wear! These items can be sent to thrift stores like Plato's Closet or Arc's Value Village, where you might even get a little cash back : )
6. Start putting your "keep pile" back into your closet. Organize, organize, organize! You'll have tons of extra space for clothes from your next shopping spree!

| SUCCESS AT TONY'S DINER! |

Last Thursday, our team held our first event of the spring semester. As I mentioned in my last blog, the event was held at Tony's Diner in Dinky-town and it was a huge success! The place was packed the entire night and we got great traffic from people leaving the bars on campus. Also, the atmosphere was awesome because there was fun music playing the whole night and people were dancing and having a great time! Our team was able to give away a number of postcards and BCBGeneration buttons. It was fun to see everyone wearing the buttons during, and even after the event! Overall, I would love to hold another event at this restaurant!

This is week is Alpha Chi Omega's sweetheart week. Their sorority will be holding a philanthropy event on Thursday of this week. There will be an endless supply of food, music, and of course free BCBGeneration giveaways! The event will be held at Tony's Diner, in Dinky-town, from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Tickets to get into the event with be 6 dollars at the door and all the proceeds will be going to support Women's Advocates (a shelter for abused women). Come visit Chelsea and I at our booth to receive BCBGeneration's newest spring merchandise and also sign up for our raffle! We will be raffling off a fun, new purse! Can't wait to see you all there!

Spring is here and so is warmer weather! The days of Uggs are out the door and sandals are here to stay! It's time to start wearing brighter clothes and nail polish too. Students all over campus are wearing shades of pink and lots of neon colors. Getting a professional manicure/pedicure can be expensive, so it is important to have a few polish colors at home to choose from! Remember that the perfect polish can add a lot to your outfit, so make sure to plan ahead!

Need a fun new hairstyle for the Spring? College students all around the University of Minnesota's campus are wearing their hair in a partial side braid. This hairstyle is fun because it can dress up a casual outfit and it is a cute way to pin back any bangs! It is quick and easy and it looks great!
