| TALLAHASSEE'S 'GO RADIO' IS MAKING IT BIG, CHECK THEM OUT ON TOUR NOW! |
| APRIL 18, 2010 |
|
|
Summer is fast-approaching. For me this means shedding my worn out winter wardrobe, throwing on a cute BCBGeneration romper and heading out to all the shows summer always has to offer. Bands will be rolling through our towns on their summer tours, making the hot nights ahead that much more fun.
If you can only make it out to one show then be sure it Tallahassee's "Go Radio". Their new EP "Do Over's and Second Chances" (out April 20th) does not disappoint. They're EP is catchy and irresistable with smart lyrics and incredible talent to back it, my favorite songs include "Goodnight Moon" and "Letters and Love Notes". Check them out (www.myspace.com/goradio), I promise you'll have found your new favorite band of the summer. Lucky for you, you can throw on some BCBGeneration duds that are perfect for summer concerts and check them out on tour right now. See you there!

| BCBGENERATION IS A HIT IN FSU'S CLUTCH MAGAZINE! |
| APRIL 18, 2010 |
|
|
Florida State's one and only fashion publication, CLUTCH magazine began back in 2006 and has grown tremendously ever since. They were recognized in a mini feature on MTV's TRL in 2007 and have continued to recieve attention locally and nationally. In this past fall issue many BCBGeneration pieces were shot and readers loved what they saw. One of their favorite pieces was the grey jumper featured in the editorial spread. The model actually went out and bought the piece after falling in love with it on set! BCBGeneration continues to impress with every season, CLUTCH and their readers can't wait to see what comes next!

| WHO CARES ABOUT THE GOLD STATUES? ITS ALL ABOUT THE RED CARPET! |
| MARCH 18, 2010 |
|
|
|
The beginning of the year is my favorite time of year because it means AWARDS SEASON!! I am an absolute movie fanatic and watching the awards shows are so exciting for me. I can't wait to see what all the stars are wearing and this year they didn't disappoint. Read on and check out some of my favorite Oscar dresses from this season! From top to bottom; Sandra Bullock woreMarchesa and she looked fantastic, this dress was definitely her lucky charm because she walked away with the golden statue! Anna Kendrick looked fabulous in her Elie Saab gown, the best supporting actress almost didn't choose this particular dress but she definitely made the right decision because she looked amazing. Cameron Diaz hit the mark in her Oscar De La Renta gown, she looked elegant and the dress looked great with her skin tone. Finally, the iconic Meryl Streep in Chris March, this dress made her look young and vibrant, there's definitely a reason she's the highest nominated actress of all time. Stylists everywhere agreed that this awards season showcased some of the most risk taking fashions yet which for many, paid off. I couldn't agree more and can't wait to see what next year brings.

| SPRING STYLIST SHOWCASE: A SUCCESS! |
| APRIL 12, 2009 |
|
|
This past Monday Florida State's Collegiate Merchandising Association held their annual Spring Fashion show and it was incredible! The show featured looks from numerous designers; including BCBGeneration and BCBGMAXAZRIA Spring 2009 looks!
Our ambassador team was at the event to let everyone know about the new spring line and we got some great feedback from the ladies of FSU. Everyone absolutely loved the new spring tee's, we even spotted girls around campus sporting them the rest of the week!
Featured in the show was one of my favorite BCBGeneration spring pieces, an adorable high-waisted navy skirt.
Until next time!

| MICHELLE OBAMA: FIRST LADY OF STYLE! |
| DECEMBER 8, 2008 |
|
|
Not since Jacqueline Kennedy have designers and American women everywhere been so excited about our first lady's style. Though Michelle Obama prefers J.Crew over Saks for her everyday look it does not mean that she skips on style. The fact that her clothes are affordable make her style much more accessible. When she showed up on The View wearing a White House|Black Market dress it flew off the stores' shelves instantly!
Just because she likes her casual wear affordable doesn't mean she doesn't appreciate some couture once in a while. On election night she popped in a red and black Narciso Rodriguez dress from his Spring 2009 collection. She has another chance to wow us on January 20th, the night of Barack's inauguration. What will she wear? When Womens Wear Daily asked a handful of designers to come up with the perfect dress for inaugural night they sent back some gorgeous sketches. Above are some of my favorite- Rodarte, Badgley Mischka, Monique Lhuillier and Diane von Furstenberg.
Check out the link at the bottom of this article to see all the looks including those from Carolina Herrera, Betsey Johnson, Karl Lagerfeld, Marc Jacobs, Christian Lacroix, Michael Kors, Oscar de la Renta, Zac Posen, Peter Som, and Nicole Miller (to name a few!).
Of course I'm excited to watch the changes our President-elect is going to make but I also can't wait to see what our first lady will wear next!

| IT'S TIME TO START BUILDING THOSE WISHLISTS! |
| DECEMBER 1, 2008 |
|
|
No matter what holidays you choose to celebrate I hope that everyone is enjoying building their wishlists as much as I am!
Topping my wishlist are new boots, perfume, and lomography cameras (if you aren't familiar with them you can check them out at urbanoutfitters.com, they're amazing!). I'm also dying to go back to New York this spring. Who said you couldn't wish for trips for Christmas!?
No girl's wishlist should be without some BCBGeneration and mine certainly is not! Check out some of my favorites above!

| PROJECT RECONSTRUCTION, URBAN RENEWAL |
| NOVEMBER 11, 2008 |
|
|
Last week was FSU's fall fashion week and it was bananas! The week's events were hosted by the Collegiate Merchandising Association and Fashion Inc. On Thursday afternoon David Wolfe (the fashion worlds biggest trend forecaster!) gave a presentation and the BCBGeneration ambassador team had the pleasure of meeting him! Check out Laurie's blog for more info.
On Friday night the highly anticipated annual fashion (Project Reconstruction, Urban Renewal) was held on campus, where design students had the opportunity to show their reconstructed garments.I was amazed at the range of materials used; parachutes, seatbelts, tarp, coffee filters, newspapers, sheet music and even seaweed came strutting down the runway. Over 400 people attended the event and were given this semesters issue of CLUTCH, Florida State'sfashion magazine. BCBGeneration had an awesome ad is CLUTCH which I was very proud to show off!
All of the designers did an incredible job, I truly envy their talents! Some of my favorite designs are pictured above.

| THIS MORNING ON CAMPUS I COULDN'T HELP BUT UGHHHHH |
| OCTOBER 28, 2008 |
|
|
When I woke up this morning I was in an instant good mood. Winter has finally come to FSU; it was 37 degrees and I could not wait to whip out my scarves, coats and boots!
When I got to campus I wasn't surprised to find everyone else bundled up too, but as I panned down to my fellow seminoles feet I couldn't help but "Ughhhhh."
Uggs. Everywhere. On every other girls feet. (I secretly snapped some pictures, shown above!) In tan, black, blue, purple, tall, short, plain, furry, metallic, embroidered, embellished; the list goes on and on but the boot just remains "Ughhh"-worthy.
Fashion should inspire, not bore. I can't help but hate Uggs. Sure they are comfy and warm, so are my favorite pair of sweats. At a price of $75-$295, Ugg-wearers can do better.
This winter every designer (including BCBG!) has stepped up to the plate and presented the world with oodles of beautiful structured boots. From extremely affordable to over-the-top luxurious, every girl can afford to look stylish and stay warm this winter without throwing on their shapeless stinky Uggs. As I was leaving class my faith in fashion was restored, I spotted a girl looking sensational in a leather bomber jacket and matching boots. (pictured above)
While I was doing research for this blog (online shopping!), I ran across some of my dream boots (pictured above). Miss Sixty, Prada and BCBG, a girl can dream!
Stay warm!

| FASHION AND POLITICS: NOT SO DIFFERENT. |
| OCTOBER 3, 2008 |
|
|
|
With the major election coming up (November 4th!) Politics has leaked into every part of our lives, and this doesn't exclude fashion.
BCBGeneration, along with the entire fashion world, is about change; changing your style, changing from day to night and the constant change of what's in and what's out. Politics is no different; this election is all about the major change that America is looking for, and everyone is getting involved.
Tons of designers have endorsed their presidential candidate of choice by creating Obama and McCain t-shirts, totes, scarves and hats. (see picture) These items have been snatched up by numerous celebrities looking to show their support too. Hundreds of celebrity videos have popped up all over YouTube and their personal blogs. It's literally campaign-mania. And rightfully so, this election will change everything.
The candidates and their wives aren't ignoring fashion either; at every event they're decked out in the best of the best designer duds. (see picture) From McCain and Obama's perfectly tailored suits to their wives outfits that cost upward of $15,000, everyone is dressed to impress.
The BCBGeneration youth are all about being socially-aware and active, so don't forget to do your part! I caught the Vice Presidential debate last night, did you? Be sure to tune in on October 7th and 15th for two more Presidential debates. If you're not already registered to vote then get on it!
But most of all, don't forget to throw on some BCBGeneration on November 4th and get your cute butt to the polling booth!
Til next time!
<3 Kristina
