The sunglasses I wore to coachella are also BCBGeneration and it's called cougar. I think this picture is so funny because it describes just how we were feeling at that exact time. It was SO hot and we had to wait in line to get in so definitely not happy.
I LOVE all the BCBGeneration sunglasses. Not only are they super cute but super affordable. They go for about $30.

The rest of the trip was just fantastic and I wish i could go back!
I LOVE YOU BCBGeneration for the COACHELLA tickets!

Couple months ago, one of my best friends won Coachella tickets at the Mission Viejo BCBGeneration instore event! She was totally not expecting it and we were planning on going to Coachella regardless.
Here are some pictures!
The first picture is of my friend Has at the BCBGeneration event when she won the tickets!
Aren't the sunglasses so sick? They are BCBGeneration and it's called Coachella!
It was SO much fun but really exhausting. The fashion was incredible. I'm going to make sure to take my SLR next year so I can take pictures of all the fashionistas at Coachella!
Can't wait for next year! Now I can't wait for Sungod on May 14th!

FIG Does It Big: Helping Anteaters Express Their Own Fashion Interest By Louise Laoon Nov.16,2009
When people think of UCI, fashion does not immediately come to mind. After all, why should it? Most students don't come here with plans to become stylists or designers. However, there are some students who plan to pursue a career in the fashion industry, no matter what major they'll have on their diploma.
I happen to be one of those students, attending my classes as a literary journalism and art history double-major without a clue as to how they'll be applicable to whatever undecided but definitely fashion-related career that I embark upon. Fortunately for us, UC Irvine's Fashion Interest Group was founded in order to show UCI students that they can have a career in fashion, despite the fact that UC Irvine doesn't offer any fashion-related curriculum.
I spoke to Fashion Interest Group's president, fourth-year International Studies major Diana Kang, at an FIG event at Macy's Fashion Island. In addition to serving as the FIG president, Kang is a BCBGeneration ambassador and was in charge of welcoming shoppers at a gathering at Macy's, complete with a DJ and snacks. New and existing members of FIG mingled as we discussed the club's recent and future activities.
On Nov 1, FIG held its first fashion shoot in UCI's very own Aldrich Park.
Kang styled the models, Maddy Lamond, Andi Long and Kiersten Wintermute, with the assistance of Jeannie Shin, FIG's creative director. Natalya Olbes did the models' gorgeous makeup and Michelle Kim, FIG's lead photographer, took the photos as the sun began to set. The scene, the park decorated with balloons and streamers, was inspired by a photo of a birthday party.
"We just did [the shoot] for fun, but it's being used in people's portfolios," Kang explained. This includes Lamond's, who was recently signed to a modeling agency. Kang also wanted to organize the fashion shoot to give FIG members the opportunity to participate in something besides the club's annual fashion show, which takes place each spring.
"We're trying to make members feel more like part of a group because they feel like they come together more once the show is near," Kang explained.
Aside from preparing for the big show, Kang has many other plans in store for FIG. Kang wants to have another fashion shoot, hopefully with clothing from BCBGeneration (the BCBG label is targeted towards college students) this quarter. She encourages anyone interested in doing the models' hair and makeup or putting the shoot together to join Fashion Interest Group's Facebook group and attending meetings. The club will continue having guest speakers throughout the year, with the next speaker being a BCBG recruiter looking to hire students for internships with BCBG on Nov 18.
"We have a lot of talented and creative people," Kang said. "UCI doesn't really have a place for people to grow if they want to go into [the fashion] market … We want FIG to be a place that's really inspirational and to let people know that it's possible to get into the industry without having to go to fashion school."
As a member of FIG since my first year at UCI in 2007, I have been able to further my interest in both fashion design and journalism. This year, I hope to launch a fashion blog written by members of the club. I'm balancing that position with my new role as Director of Design. While juggling both board positions will be a challenge, I'm excited to recruit any UCI students to contribute to the upcoming blog and to show their designs in the spring fashion show.
I've learned that FIG is a group that gives students an environment to not only showcase their skills, but also to cultivate them, whether they're in photography, design, modeling, marketing or any other fashionable field.

We have an amazing team that helped out that day and I am so proud of everyone! This shoot was ALL student run.
Photographer: Michelle Kim Models: Maddy Lamond (in the black dress), Andi Long (in the black boots) and Kiersten Wintermute (in the headband). Stylist: Diana Kang with the assistance of Jeannie Shin Make-up: Natalya Olbes Helpers: Ferdi, Rebecca, Kelsey, Melvina
The clothes are from my closet and we used some of Jeannie's accessories.
Let me know what you think!

I AM DYING OVER THIS JUMPER! I want to ditch class and go to Macy's at Fashion Island and get this right now!!
It looks like it is just a jumper and a cardigan but it isn't! It's only $98, which is totally an investment. You can wear this in so many ways and to so many places. I might even want to wear it to my sorority formal!
I am obsessed with everything on the website. This season has so many cute stuff I want to buy. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

| MACAROONS > SPRINKLES CUPCAKES |
| OCTOBER 20, 2009 |
|
|
I recently discovered how delicious macaroons are! They are my new found obsession. Not only do they water in your mouth, but they are only about 100 calories each. So next time you are craving a $4 Sprinkles cupcake with hundreds of calories, try a macaroon! They are only about $1 each.
Since we don't have a Paulette's in Orange County, the best place to go is Layer Cake Bakery. So delish!
Let me know if you've tried them!

After mother's day I started thinking of what I could have gotten my mom and what I could get her for her birthday. This year I got her a bouquet of roses, a handmade card, a purse hanger and took her to the spa.
Then, I came up with the most brilliant idea that ALL moms would love...
A CUSTOMIZED calendar with pictures of your family! Or a picture of your family on a blanket or a mug. Moms love that kind of stuff.
You can easily get all of this stuff at www.costcophotocenter.com

-Choose your own page layouts
-Personalize dates with photos and captions

OR
11½ x 14 premium calendars
-Printed on premium cardstock
-Photo pages are laminated, date pages are matte
-Personalize dates with photos and captions

| WE SHOULD BE ASHAMED! |
| MAY 6, 2009 |
|
|
I saw this picture on The Sartorialist and I immediately felt shame.
How is it that this little cute boy can casually dress so dashingly, while I have become so mundane and so blah? This picture was a wake up call for me. I am victim to falling to the casual/safe category.
Why dress so plain when you can just take five more minutes in the morning and pick a little more daring outfit? Why dress like Magda when you can dress like Carrie Bradshaw?
Many students dress in sweats and comfortable clothes to study or to take a test but I suggest otherwise. Try dressing up to study, dress up in your best outfit, have your full make up on. And I promise you, you will do better simply because you will just feel better about yourself.
The path to fashion roadkill can just start with sweats and that can lead to undone hair and no makeup. Let's not even put one foot on that ugly path.
Be a Carrie not a Magda!

| MAKE YOUR OWN RINGTONES ON YOUR IPHONE FOR FREE |
| APRIL 16, 2009 |
|
|
Why download ring tones or even pay for ring tones when you can make your own from your music on iTunes for FREE?
I just gave up my Blackberry Curve for the iPhone, and it was a big adjustment. I am still adjusting to the annoying touchscreen keyboard.
But now I have my iPod, my calendar, my phone, a camera, and a really good internet browser all in one.
On top of all of that, I get to make my own ring tones and customize a ring tone for each of my friends!
I know the steps look daunting, but just follow the directions one step at a time and TA-DA you just made your own ring tone! I promise it will get much easier after the first time.
Here are the steps:
On a Mac:
1. Determine the 30 sec clip you want, say from 1:30 - 2:00 of the song 2. Right click song, GET INFO 3. Click OPTIONS 4. Click and enter start and finish time 5. Right click song, create AAC version 6. Right click edited song (shorter version), choose VIEW IN FINDER 7. Now delete the copy in iTunes, click REMOVE file 8. Click KEEP FILE 9. Go into your finder and change the name of the file 10. Instead of M4a. change to m4r. make sure you say use m4r. 11. Click the new song and it should pop under ring tones in iTunes 12. Sync phone, go to sounds and find your song you created

| BAG BORROW OR STEAL |
| APRIL 13, 2009 |
|
|
Do you remember in the Sex and the City movie, when Jennifer Hudson a.k.a Louise rented designer handbags off a website? Now you can too!!
I recently discovered the website where Louise rented her handbags from. I was so excited when I found the website. But of course I was a little skeptical.
Is it really possible to rent designer handbags for as low was $25? Why would I want to rent? Are they real?
Thankfully, the website had all the answers to my questions.
--
WHY RENT?
1. You can carry handbags like celebrities! Get a fabulous "it" handbag for an event, special occasion, or even everyday…carry it and then return it!
2. No more "handbag boredom!" Isn't there always a new handbag that you want? Now you can change your purse whenever the mood strikes.
3. Husbands love us! Seriously. They're tired of expensive handbags piling up in the closet because we're "over" them.
4. It costs less than you think! You can carry stunning designer handbags, jewelry, sunglasses and even watches from only $25 a month! (Hubbies also like that about us!)
5. Best of all: Renting is easy! Browse our collection of purses, totes, satchels, clutches (and more) and click. Enjoy them for a week, a month or as long as you wish. And when you've had your fun, send them back and rent something new!
ARE THEY AUTHENTIC?
Don't get caught with a fake! We work directly with authorized
sources to bring you the world's most coveted designer handbags, jewelry, sunglasses and watches.
You'll be thrilled the moment you open your first Avelle delivery!
The materials, the craftsmanship, the detailing. Everything will be impeccable.
Rest assured, however, if anything you rent ever fails to delight you, we'll make things right.
WHAT DOES IT COST?
With over 4,000 styles in our collection, you have a
wide range of choices — with monthly fees starting as
low as $25, or weekly for as little as $6.
--
I am still a little reluctant on renting a bag online, but it does sound appealing. Especially with fashion always evolving and coming out with new trends, and with this economy, why not get a different designer bag here and there by paying as low as $25 a month?
It's definitely something to think about!

| HOW TO SHRED YOUR OWN LEGGINGS! |
| MARCH 31, 2009 |
|
|
So I've been searching for shredded leggings everywhere because first of all I live in leggings ( I own almost every single color of American Apparel leggings) and also shredded leggings are just so badass.
Thankfully, one of the designers from our school's fashion club (Fashion Interest Group) did a tutorial on how to shred your own leggings! And I figured I should spread the word.
Here are the steps according to Louise:
1. Put on the leggings.
2. Sit down.
3. Cut thin straight lines very close together.
4. Then viola! you have your own one of a kind shredded leggings!
Here is the link to Louise's blog:
